Short and honest: the KnightFight Test World will not open tomorrow. ⚔️

We need a bit more time to get it right. We would rather hold it back than have you spend the week fighting the build instead of each other.

The event is not cancelled. Same format, same tournament, same moonID medals for the Top 10 knights. Only the date moves - and we will announce the new one right here as soon as it is locked.

Thanks for your patience. We know some of you already cleared the week.

☀️ Summer Promo is still running until August 22 - up to 50% more MoonCoins on every premium package. 👉 Get your bonus

🧛 And MonstersGame's new world Renaissance is live if you want a fight in the meantime. 👉 Join Renaissance

Keep your swords sharp. We will be back with a date shortly. 🛡️

Hi Enigmista88, short version:

We are opening a temporary KnightFight test world. It runs for a few weeks only, then it closes. The point is to test our new servers before we move the real worlds over to them.

It is not open yet. The original date was today, but we pushed it back and the new date will be posted in this thread.

When it opens, you join like this: log in with your normal moonID, then create a new character on the test world. It is free, it is a fresh start for everyone, and it does not affect your existing accounts.

The Top 10 players get an exclusive moonID medal at the end.

Hello, I think we as a community should receive some information in advance.
*How should we join? A new account from scratch, or are we transferring one of ours?
*If we're playing from scratch and testing new mechanics, what kind?
*Will it finally be a server without BS and the exchange of Coins for gold and then for skills?
*What should we expect?

I know that implementing a new game world is complex, but as players, we'd like to know more before the new world launches.

Good morning. Since KnightFight is currently still with our old hosting provider but is scheduled to move to AWS—where it will be cloud-ready—we plan to run a stress test beforehand. We need to determine if any settings need to be dialed up or if other changes are required.
Alternatively, we need to see if everything works as expected on the new hosting system.

That is why we are conducting stress and functional tests before we begin moving the live game worlds.
After all, no one wants a situation where—following the migration—pages suddenly take minutes to load on the live worlds, or where certain features fail to work as usual.

Regards, patti

I understand everything, but it doesn't answer any of my questions above.

Hey Lyonnis_94, fair questions, and you're right that "why" isn't the same as "what". Here's what we can say today.

How do you join?
Fresh start for everyone. No transfers, no imports. You log in with your existing moonID and create a new character on the test world, exactly like the MonstersGame test world in July. Nothing you do there touches your live accounts, and nothing from there carries back.

What is actually being tested?
Infrastructure, not mechanics. As Patti already mentioned above, KnightFight still runs at our old hoster and is moving to AWS. Before we touch a single live world we want to see the new setup under real player load: page load times, the fight system under pressure, the cronjobs, payment, all the things that have to keep working after the move. So don't expect a new ruleset or reworked mechanics. Expect the KnightFight you know, on new hardware, with us watching the graphs very closely.

Coins, gold, skills?
Premium and MoonCoins stay active. Not because we want to squeeze a test world, but because payment is one of the systems that has to survive the migration. If we switch it off, we learn nothing about it, and finding out it's broken on a live world afterwards is exactly the scenario we're trying to avoid. So it runs, and it gets tested like everything else.

What should you expect?

  • A short world. A few weeks, not a permanent one.
  • A tournament ranking with exclusive moonID medals for the Top 10.
  • Bugs. That's the point. Reporting what breaks is the single most useful thing you can do there.
  • Whether a permanent new world follows afterwards, the way Renaissance followed the MG test, is not decided yet.

The full details, the date and the exact rules go into this thread before it opens. You won't have to guess.

Do appreciate the info and heads up, but without being too much of a "Negative Nancy" this post reads:

You know that thing that we're doing tomorrow that we didn't tell you about - well it's now not happening.

As you say though - better to be prepared in advance and plan for the worst, then hope for the best and discover it's otherwise!

GL with the environment tweaking.

Ha. Fair, and not entirely wrong.

In our defence it was announced, just not loudly. The date went out in the NewMoon thread on August 12, and I added some context on what the test world is for a few hours later. But a launch date buried in an event thread isn't really an announcement, so the hit lands.

That gets fixed with the new date: its own thread, what it is, how to join, how long it runs, what we're testing. Not a footnote under a MoonCoins giveaway.

And yes, better to find the problems now than after the live worlds move. Thanks for the GL, we'll take it.
