CRATR would have zero income from such a server because there would be no mooncoin/gold exchange, premium package, premium tavern, battleground and premium items. At the same time, they would still have to cover ongoing costs such as server maintenance, monitoring, customer support and development work. |

@Doom75
I’ve mentioned this in previous posts, but here is how it was understood:
The simple point was that such servers have to be self-financing, as they incur monthly costs. And if something costs more than it brings in, it isn't profitable. Sounds logical, right?
A server cannot be funded solely through premium gear or by upgrading skills using coins with gold.
As previously mentioned, the effort the operators themselves put into the game is irrelevant. Once a server is online, additional costs are incurred regardless of whether the server is actively used or who is running the game. I believe the number of players affects costs; even inactive accounts generate expenses, as network providers do not account for such details—just as it makes no difference whether the end user plays on a mobile phone or a PC.
Yet few people here seem to consider this, and I doubt the enthusiasm would last long if we were to return to the very thing people originally wanted to move away from.
Nevertheless, I have also outlined here what a game without all the bells and whistles (premium features, battle servers, and exchanging Moon Coins for gold) might look like if it were to be fair.
