Hello everyone,

I’m a returning player who used to play KnightFight back in 2008. After years of searching for the game (the marketing is so non-existent that searching for "knight fight" with a space doesn't even bring it up!), I finally found it and started from scratch on INT7 (September 2025).

Right now, I am only Level 9, but with the current pace of the game, I feel like I will drop it very soon out of sheer boredom. I want to emphasize that I have absolutely no problem spending Gems/real money; I already bought Premium and I am willing to buy more. However, the game design literally doesn't allow me to progress with Gems alone. Many high-level weapons strictly require Gold, and since I cannot farm Gold, I am completely stuck.

Here is my daily "gameplay" loop, which doesn't feel like playing a game at all:
I log in, set 12 consecutive 10-minute missions, and then execute 10 PvP attacks. To make those 10 attacks, I spend around 30 Gold just searching for targets. In return, from those 10 attacks combined, I win a grand total of 10 Gold because every single account I hit has 0 Gold on them. Then I just leave my character at the Tavern. This is unrewarding and frankly, not fun.

I would love to get some guidance and answers from veteran players or the administration on the following points:

  1. The Weapon Progression Dilemma (Need Advice)
Because Gold is non-existent, I cannot buy weapons fluidly. If I try to skip weapons to save up, my character becomes too weak for its level bracket and gets crushed.

My Question: What is the meta strategy for upgrading gear here? How many levels should I skip before buying a new weapon so that my character doesn't fall behind in stats? At what level do attacks actually start yielding real Gold?

  1. The "Dead Server" Atmosphere & Active Players
Competing browser games have made massive quality-of-life updates to keep low-level progression engaging. KnightFight has a massive nostalgia factor for me, and I love the graphics and theme, but right now, it feels like I am wandering in a graveyard. Almost every character under the leaderboard feels abandoned. The only sign of life I see is when 2 or 3 high-level players notice I actually have some Gold and start farming me.

My Question: Is there any practical way to find active players around my level to attack, rather than wasting Gold blindly searching through dead accounts?

  1. Future Roadmap & Marketing
Given that INT7 is heavily populated by inactive/abandoned accounts:

Is there a new server planned anytime soon where we can experience a fresh, active economy?

Are there any plans by RedMoon Studios to run marketing campaigns or merge servers to revive the active user count?

I really want to love and support this game financially, but the early-game loop on an older server is currently broken for new players. Any strategic advice on how to survive this level bracket would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nimoe

Hello,

At your current low level, it makes sense to invest in your skill build rather than in weapons, as buying weapons at this stage is an unnecessary expense. A skill build is permanent—something you build upon—whereas you resell a weapon at a 50% loss; therefore, it makes sense—especially in the early stages—to invest in something that will be of long-term benefit to you.

Focus on building a strong skill setup.

There are differences between one-handed and two-handed weapon builds—something you’ve likely already noticed—and you can use these skill builds as a general guide.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you exactly at what level it becomes worthwhile to start buying weapons. I personally ran around with a starter sword for a long time and put all my resources into my skill build instead.

Make sure to avoid losing any gold; this makes you a less appealing target for opponents, as they won't be able to loot anything valuable from you.

You can find helpful tips here (including an overview of equipment):

Thank you for the solid advice! Investing purely in skills rather than losing 50% value on temporary weapons makes perfect sense, and I will definitely follow the "zero gold on hand" rule to stop higher levels from farming me.

However, my main frustration remains unresolved, and it’s the core reason I feel stuck. If I am going to win 0 Gold from PvP fights, there is absolutely no motivation for me to build a strong character or look forward to PvP. The psychological aspect of defeating an opponent and gaining nothing back makes the game feel like an endless PvE chore (Missions/Tavern).

Here is the thing that confuses me: When I look at the leaderboard on different servers , I see some players around Level 10-15 who have looted over 500k Gold purely from PvP. So the Gold is clearly out there, and it IS possible to farm it at low levels. My issue isn't about being strong enough to win; my issue is that every single attack I make yields exactly 0 Gold. To help me set a long-term goal and stay motivated, I need to know the reality of the server's economy and mechanics:

How are these Level 10-15 players farming 500k Gold from PvP on a seemingly dead server? Are they targeting specific active players who fail to hide their gold, or is there a trick/tool to find targets with high gold pools that I am missing?

At what specific level range do ordinary, active players actually start carrying extractable Gold on them? Is there a certain level bracket (e.g., Level 30+, 50+) where stat costs become so high that players naturally fail to keep their gold at 0, making PvP naturally profitable?

If the answer is "PvP is only profitable if you get lucky or use a specific tracking method," I need to know. Because right now, making character strong just to hit 0 Gold targets at Level 9 feels completely pointless.

Thanks again for the wiki link and the tips!

You look in the high score for players with high gold loss, go to -Gold (circled area),

You should level up a bit first; once you reach Level 10, you can access the Battle Server. From there, you'll level up automatically and can also attack higher-level opponents.

You will find the best assistance in the link I posted above.

The beginning is always tough—we all had to go through it! :)

as an FYI - CRATR bought out the IP from RMS for a very nominal amount years ago & it's run by a very small team currently.

INT7 is actually a relatively new world - and there's no appetite from the existing players to have yet another world get opened to be abandoned after less than a year.

Your main issue is that you're playing on a new world, there's very few characters around who don't follow the "don't hoard gold" meta & as such most people will not be giving anything up when you win. (fights therefore are about strength bragging rights not gold gains)

If you're buying prem equipment just look at the stats and take the next item where the stats are both higher than the one you've got - in 99% the cases that's the next prem item & they drop much sooner than the gold equivalent.
you can even skip prem items if you divert all that cash into stats. (def worth it early game or it can get costly if you speed level).

as a new player the BG is the best way to grow in the current scenario, but you need to be lvl10 to join and there's some build nuances to have sucess (I'm not sure of them not had a new knight for eons + was established before the BG was created).

Ye Olde High score farming was extracting the HS in the level range you were interested in, looking for changes in the 2 or 3 gold columns (mission, gold+ and gold-) via a 2nd extract a time period later. I typically did it every 2 hours 7 then hitting your targets.
otherwise it's just about doing XP/safety fights.

there's supposed to be a big battlesystem update coming - but we're nearly at a year after it was first announced and still no info from the CRATR team when it might appear (and where).

concentrating players is a touchy subject currently - and CRATR don't have any plans to do it as it stands - despite the players having requested the analysis be done on how it might look for years now....

Thank you p_b and nimoe for these incredibly detailed and insightful answers! This clears up so much about the current server meta.

However, I want to be very direct about my main goal: My priority is NOT speed-leveling or gaining XP. I specifically want to suppress my level, farm Gold through PvP, and pump my permanent Stats. I want to know when and how the economy actually starts working for a player with this specific mindset.

Could you please clarify these points for me?

  1. At what exact level range does PvP actually become profitable?
You mentioned that low-level fights don't yield gold because everyone follows the "don't hoard gold" meta. But as I mentioned, I see Level 10-15 players on the leaderboard who have looted over 500k Gold from PvP.

My Question: At what specific level bracket (e.g., Level 30+, 50+) do players naturally start carrying extractable Gold on them because stat or guild costs become too high to safely dump everything? I need a realistic level target so I know when I can finally stop relying solely on boring Missions/Tavern loops.

  1. Which Build Makes More Sense for a "Gold Farming" Meta?
Right now, if I get 0 Gold at Level 9, I assume I might only get 50 Gold at Level 15. But once I finally reach those higher, profitable levels where players actually hold Gold:

My Question: Which build is more viable for a pure PvP Gold-farming strategy? Is a Two-Handed (2H) build better for high burst damage, or is a One-Handed (1H) + Shield build better? If 1H+Shield is preferred, should I focus heavily on an Armor-stacking build, or should I keep my Weapon and Armor stats balanced?

  1. The Level 10 Battleground (Battle Server) Nuances
You mentioned that in the Battleground, I can attack higher-level opponents. This part confuses me slightly regarding the mechanics:

My Question: How does Gold looting work in the Battleground when attacking high-level players? Do I still get Gold even if I lose the fight against a higher-level opponent, or is it strictly based on winning? Is the BG actually a viable place for Gold farming, or is it just a tool for fast XP?

  1. The Highscore "-Gold" Tracking
My Question: Is there a way to filter or sort the "-Gold" column by daily or weekly stats within the game? Or do I literally have to look at the general highscore list and manually track hundreds of players every few hours to see whose gold columns changed?

I am currently sitting at Level 9 and very close to Level 10. Based on your advice, I will pool my resources into my stats right now and push for Level 10 to see how the Battleground changes the game for me.

Thanks again for guiding a returning veteran!

Hey guys,

Quick update—I just found and thoroughly read through the Battleground manual based on your recommendations, and the mechanics actually cleared up a few things, but it also raised a very tactical question regarding the meta.

Since the manual states that rewards depend heavily on the "battle efficiency" of the defeated opponent (the stronger they are compared to me, the greater the reward), and given that my equipment and stats lock completely upon entering the BG session:

My Question: Which setup is historically more advantageous to abuse this specific BG system? Is it smarter to enter with a 1H + Shield (Armor-heavy) build so the system perceives my baseline "battle efficiency" as lower/weaker, allowing me to out-survive and defeat stronger opponents for massive system-generated rewards? Or is it better to go full glass-cannon with a 2H build and a max-tier weapon for high burst damage, even if the system ranks my own efficiency higher?

Either way, this system motivated me a lot. I am currently very close to Level 10. I am going to push through this final level bracket, max out my equipment for Level 10, and immediately dive into the Battleground to test it out!

Thanks again for the amazing guidance, p_b and nimoe!

I found your character and according to your char page you started to play on 2026-05-11 and you already picked the 1h/higher armor route.

Here are some hints which may help you on your journey.

  1. This game requires planning and patience since most of the players started way before than you having much better items/stats not to mention that there are players who stops at certain level to farm. Then they either level up or stay there forever for whatever reason which means there always be stronger knights who'll attack you.
  2. (In my personal view) you can't compete in Knighfight without being premium player --> you buy premium package (premium tavern is also useful at higher levels) + buy premium items (in that case you don't need to hold and/or save lot of gold to be able to buy items + premium items have better stats). Buy mooncoins when you get the 50% bonus so you'll get more for your money.
  3. https://kfwiki.arcadewelten.eu/index.php?title=Inhaltsverzeichnis/en check this site, it provides lot of useful information and you can also plan your equipment well ahead.
  4. I also returned to the game after a long break and went for the 2h route, I used Neglected heirloom sword (requires 12 skill points) until I bought Frostbite (33 skill points). I have a thumb rule that I change my weapon when the next one has equal/higher minimum damage than the current one.
  5. You have not invested much into your knight yet so you either delete it and restart as 2h or continue with 1h/armor (reskilling would be too expensive).
  6. Attack active players or active farm accounts to loot gold, if you don't loot much gold then you either attack inactive players (an indication is that their exp bar is full) or active players who bank their gold.
  7. As others wrote battleground at lvl 10 will be a great source of gold and exp. Zombies are copies of the players who join the battleground, sometimes you get easy ones while sometimes you get tough ones in your BE / in the next BEs.

p.s. There are no lvl 10-15 players on Int 7 who would have 500k+ gold+.
